about

I like to think of BRR as a wormhole or a "Time Warp" to be exact. It was made with the intention of not sounding like a JayWood song at all, no words, no instruments just synth and midi. The reason behind that was it had to function as if it were a different artist playing on the radio station, hence the radio voice saying "that was Animation by The Cryptkeeper"

That was a reference a stupid reference to the old tales of the cryptkeeper cartoon www.youtube.com/watch?v=N1j1ely4YoY

I really wanted the album to sound and feel nostalgic, while taking the listener through different set pieces in time starting from around the age of 15 in BRR, my early adult years in Groove Corner and my 20 somethings in Shoeglazed.
In order to capture that trip down memory lane, I made this song which was supposed to represent a Time Machine and falling into space. It kinda swells up and swallows you into it's folds, you don't know where it's taking you, but you feel like it's deepening into something. Once you finally arrive at the destination you hear the voice of the radio host and the setting is the early 2010s.

Blue Rebel Radio was named after the "Blue" Microphone I used for all my home recording music, it gave me a voice I didn't know I had.
My "Rebel" Camera which helped me craft a bit of image, which for JW gave me some fun new perspectives on how to make an image for myself
and of course the "Radio" which at every point in my life always plays music in my room. I've been obsessed with music since I was a kid, the radio was my window into hearing all these different voices, sounds and styles. For years of my life, i'd hear music in my head but it wasn't until the age of around 14 that I started to write my own songs and try to tell my own stories

So Time is me telling a part of my story to you!
