Sun Cats (Later being named Moon Cats) was made the same night as Downtime. I remember after I finished the first mix and went to bed, I remember in my dream I kept hearing the repeating melody of Moon Cats in my head the (dooby do dobby dooby do) thing

I woke up at like 2 or 3 in the morning and I immediately tried to find the chords around that melody. The song itself came together super quickly as there are only 5 chords throughout the whole song, however I wanted the song to feel uplifting and inspiring. The build up into those strings at the end of songs are meant to represent taking a leap of faith, and all the beauty and happiness on "the otherside" of that. I just imagine jumping off a cliff and then you sprout wings and start soaring hence "taking a trip"

The song title is a nod to the local Winnipeg band "Black Cloud" the guitarist Darin Rudd was a really inspiring person while making these songs. I wanted to honour that relationship and try to make something that sounded like a BC song. I used this one for inspiration "Sun Dogs"
